Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Welcome to all new members!

More people have now changed over to Alert to receive the updates which is great so keep spreading the word. The more members we have the better the scheme will work and the further we can spread the word on what's happening out there to keep each other safe.

We have seen a rise in reports about horses being attacked by dogs when both out riding and whilst grazing in the fields. If you follow our social media pages you will see that we promote keeping dogs under control quite often especially around livestock. We are trying to get the message out there and we will deal with any offences that we can.

We have also had a report of suspicious activity in the Alderley (Cheshire East) area. The stable owners believe the horses were attempted to be stolen. Gates to the fields were open and some off the hinges and flat on the floor causing the horses to escape into another field. The local officers and the Rural crime team have been made aware and will step up patrols in the area.

In the Frodsham area a horse owner has noticed red spray paint on the fencing in the middle of the field (not close to any roads or footpaths). Nothing since has been noticed and we have not had any reports similar. I have spoken with the owner and I will let you know if anything further is highlighted.

As always, get in touch if you have any information or anything you wish to be sent out to other members.

Thank you

Nicola
