Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Dear all,

We hope you are keeping safe and well.
During this very difficult time we ask for you all to take a sensible approach to how you are looking after your horse and the horsey community you are surrounded by. Many of you will be on a livery or DIY yards, all we ask is for each of you to play your part in reducing the demand on the NHS and saving lives by following the government guide lines.
Please just THINK. Where ever possible reduce your journeys, have time slots to reduce the amount of people on the yard at one time, keep your minimum distance of 2m.
Do you need to ride? Horses are unpredictable and accidents can happen even when doing flat work so reduce the risk to yourself and the strain on the NHS by not jumping (remove the jumps from the school to reduce temptation), hacking etc.
Wash hands, wear gloves, disinfect door and gate handles as you go around the yard. Have spray bottles marked up with suitable disinfectant left by gates and stable doors. Remember it is your responsibility to do your bit to reduce the spread.

Thank you so much for your support.
