Suspicious Person update - Whitby area

Alert message sent 13/03/2020 09:40:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Following on from my message sent out on Saturday 7th March -
A further report of a female matching the description of the woman seen taking photographs on Dunkirk Lane has been received.

At 12:15  on Tuesday 10th March the female, matching the description of the lady seen on Saturday 7th March was seen walking along Birch Grove and Cherry Grove.  The caller could clearly see her screen was on video mode as she was walking up and down the roads, whilst she talked into the phone.  Although it was quite cold she was wearing just a sweater and trousers.

As mentioned in the previous report (below) this may be nothing of concern but her actions have appeared suspicious to local residents. No reports have been received to imply anything untoward has occurred.

This information has been supplied to remind you to stay alert and if you are concerned about anything happening in your area please let us know.

ORIGINAL REPORT - Report of a Suspicious Person

Dunkirk Lane / Heath Avenue

At 11.10am this morning a local resident reported seeing a female taking photographs of houses on Dunkirk Lane / Heath Avenue.

The female was described as being around 50/60 years of age and of Chinese ethnicity.  She was slim and petite with short bobbed brown hair.

She had stood on Dunkirk Lane looking up into Heath Avenue and appeared to be taking photographs of the properties before walking along into Woodsome Drive and turning back and taking more photographs of the area.

This may have been totally innocent but please be aware of any suspicious or unusual activity in the area and please feel free to report it as it is better to be safe than sorry
