Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon Everyone,

We have attended a few incidents in the Crewe Road area of Sandbach over the past week.

These include theft from motor vehicle and an attempted burglary.

With cold weather due in the upcoming months, it's a good time to remind people to -

VEHICLES:
Never leave keys in the ignition and doors unlocked when your car is unattended, whether your vehicle is sitting on your drive or on the roadside.

Allow an extra few minutes to defrost your vehicle and stay with it.

Always ensure your view is completely clear of ice or when your screen fogs up.

Don't leave valuables - even if you think an item isn't of much worth, someone else.

HOME:
Any security you can take - spot light, alarm system, valuable items out of reach

We also advise to be vigilant around potential house to house sales-persons- if you're not sure on them, ask for their ID. And even then if they do provide it, ask them for a company contact number and name and research them and maybe ask them to come back - giving you time to look them up.

Most burglaries and vehicle crimes are opportunistic and therefore preventable. By following some straightforward advice we can ensure that this type of crime keeps falling.

We hope you have a great and safe festive period following the upcoming halloween and bonfire night.

Any concerns or issues, please either come to a local officers beat surgery or call 101 - 999 in case of emergency.

Kind regards,

PCSO Watson
Sandbach Police
