Recent Scams to be aware of

Alert message sent 24/07/2019 13:39:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

We have had a recent spike in fraudulent acticvity regarding persons impersonating banks and calling customers.
Please be extremely mindful of who you are talking to, check any phone numbers that have called, and do not disclose any personal information to anyone who you may have the slight inkling of doubt about.
A genuine banker would not be offended if you hung up or refused details. A person trying to scam or fraud people may become irritable and overly assertive in this situation, in which case you should hang up and report it to Cheshire Police on 101, Action Fraud and to your Bank.
Should you happen to notice any money that has left your account that you cannot account for, this would also need reporting as a matter of urgency.

To summarise, be vigilant, challenge anything suspicious and report it. Banks, Action Fraud and Cheshire Police would want to know this information, no matter how big or small.
