Ellesmere Port & Neston Police News Bulletin
6 to 11 November 2018
  
If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
 
Burglary
 Incidents reported relating to RESIDENTIAL property:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Princes Road – Insecure property entered and purse removed from within.  Cash card used at a number of different premises within town.
  • West Road - Rear of premises accessed via an insecure gate.  Property entered via insecure rear door.  Purse, handbag and large bottle of alcohol taken from kitchen worktop.
  • Whitby
  • Maple Grove, Whitby – Offenders seen in rear garden attempting to gain access to property via rear patio doors.  The target believed to be accessing a BMW which was parked on the driveway. - * see below.
  • Lewis Close - Neighbour at home notices a vehicle slowly driving towards a residential property. The vehicle is believed to be that stolen in the burglary in Chester. The vehicle stops and three males climb over the side access gate into the rear garden approaching the patio doors.  The offenders are disturbed by noises made by the neighbour and leave in the vehicle.be leaving is suspected to be a vehicle stolen from a burglary in Chester which is later found burnt out in Wrexham. - * see below. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Oakfield Road – Shed accessed after locks cut off.  Hedge cutter taken.
  • Netherpool
  • Rivacre Road – Rear garden accessed via insecure side gate.  Entry gained into property by forcing patio door and braking locking mechanism.  Untidy search made within entire property, including the garden shed, before 2 offenders disturbed by occupant returning home.  Offenders have exited property via patio door and over into neighbouring garden.  CCTV shows 2 male offenders being dropped off at the location in a dark coloured Audi A3.  The vehicle can then be seen being driven to and fro, past the address whilst they are at the address. – * This incident is linked to a number of incidents in both Chester and Ellesmere Port which are believed to involve the same offenders/vehicle:
    • Granby Road, Chester – Premises entered via rear patio doors and black Audi S3, YB60 KUO taken.
    • Maple Grove, Whitby – Offenders seen in rear garden attempting to gain access to property via rear patio doors.  The target believed to be accessing a BMW which was parked on the driveway.

  • St. Pauls
  • Old Chester Road – Kitchen window broken in what may have been an attempt to gain access to property before the offender/s were disturbed and left in a grey Vauxhall Corsa. 
Incidents reported relating to BUSINESS premises:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Stanney Mill Road – Upper floor window to ‘M and P Survey Equipment Ltd’ smashed and believed to be point of entry.  Metal fencing on far side of compound also found to have been cut through. Unknown what has been taken at this time.
Criminal Damage

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Exeter Road – Double glazed window smashed. – 4 males witnessed running off.
  • Rivington Road – 1 male member of group of youths outside ‘William Hill’ enters premises but after being prevented from leaving by other group members kicks at door causing single glass panel in the bottom to smash. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Neston
  • Drake Road – Group of youths have lifted a number of flag stones from outside the ‘Go Local’ shop.  Some have been broken.
  • St. Pauls
  • Station Road – BMW, parked in residential carpark found with deep scratches made into body work and brick thrown through rear window.
  • Grange
  • Sutton Way – 2 windows damaged, possibly by pellet.
Theft
Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Mercer Walk – Group of youths enter market area and run off with fire extinguishers. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Sutton
  • Overpool Road – Unknown male forces entry into tyre air machine at ‘BP Garage’ and removes a quantity of cash from the internal cash box.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT OF motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Strawberry
  • St. Marks Crescent – Mercedes, DF17 KVK, locked and secure on residential driveway taken by unknown means. – Recovered in Wood Street, Birkenhead. – Male arrested. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Netherpool
  • Rossfield Road – Renault Laguna, V576 MCR taken from business car park by a tow truck.
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Stanney Lane – Female has left property and found unknown male sitting in the front passenger seat of their Land Rover Freelander.  Upon being confronted male has pushed caller away and run off in the direction of Wolverham Road.
  • Strawberry
  • Number of vehicles targeted by male linked to the vehicle theft in St. Marks Crescent, who has since been identified and arrested:
    • West Park Drive – Hyundai i30 entered by unknown means and wallet taken, with bank card later being used in Asda. – Suspect identified.
    • Green Lawns Drive – Honda CRV entered by unknown means.  Untidy search made within and loose change taken from centre console. – CCTV shows male offender, stocky build wearing a knee length coat with a man bag.
    • Cannock Close – Male witnessed trying the door handle on Mazda, which was parked on a residential driveway in an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry.
    • Silverbirch Way – Insecure Audi A4 entered and cash taken from centre console. 
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Alnwick Drive – Whilst attending incident on Bon Fire night 2 unattended police vehicles damaged.
    • 1st - has both wing mirrors damaged and rear passenger window smashed.
    • 2nd – has lit firework thrown onto bonnet, by youth on push bike which has caused the windscreen to crack when it has exploded.
  • Rossmore
  • Church Street – Number of vehicles within road reported to have been damaged: 
    • 1st -       Citroen Berlingo damaged. No further details.
    • 2nd -      Audi RS4, parked on roadside scratched along all panels and all tyres let down.
    • 3rd -       Vehicle parked outside address (no further details) keyed along one side, dented numerous times with unknown object and one tyre deflated by unknown means.
  • Swale Road – Range Rover P38 has rear window smashed. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • St. Pauls
  • Albany Gardens – Toyota Igo, parked at roadside has passenger side window smashed.
  • Sutton
  • Tarporley Road – Citroen Dispatch van, parked outside garages has an unsuccessful attempt to prise open doors on vehicle.  The rear light has also been damaged before offender/s have left the area.
Other incidents of note…

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port
  • Ellesmere Port area in general – Numerous reports of bonfires being lit and fireworks being set off in area and aimed at vehicles and patrols. – 4 youths arrested. 
  • Princes Road - Peugeot 207, MT08 AYX, found set alight at roadside. - Completely burnt out.
