Poynton January Newsletter
On Thursday 25th January local Beat Officers held a day of action regarding drivers using their mobile phone whilst driving. 8 drivers were caught using their phone at the wheel. These drivers will receive 6 points on their license and a £200 fine. 3 other drivers were also given tickets for not wearing a seatbelt and one driver was dealt with for eating her porridge whilst driving.
Over the last month we have had an increase in reports that youths are congregating in the old abandoned building near Hunts Vets on Dickens Lane. Abandoned buildings are extremely dangerous and often contain broken glass, broken floorboards, unsafe roofs and asbestos. If you witness any anti-social behavior or youths gathering in these buildings please call us on 101 and we will deal with those involved.
Property and Vehicle Crime
Between 19th December and 2nd January a burglary occurred at a property on Chestnut Drive. A rear window was smashed and entry was gained into the property. At this time it is not believed anything was stolen. CC18001261
Overnight 2nd-3rd January a vehicle was damaged on London Road South. It appears that the vehicle was scratched the length of it with a sharp implement. 0718003086
Between 4pm-4.30pm on 4th January 2 push bikes were stolen after being left locked and secure outside Poynton Railway Station. CC18004031
Between 20th December and 7th January damage was caused to security lights and doors at a property on Middlewood Road. No entry was gained into the property. CC18005931
Overnight 6th-7th January a burglary occurred at an outbuilding on Middlewood Road. A trailer and told were stolen, security lights were also damaged at the location. CC18006888
Overnight 14th-15th January a shed was broken into on Middlewood Road and a Lawn Mower was stolen. 18100006032
Around 5am on 17th January a Unit was broken into on First Avenue on Poynton industrial estate. At this time it does not appear that anything was taken. 18100007701
Overnight 17th-18th January damage was caused to the front door of a property on Pickwick Road but no entry was gained. 18100008873
