A man who burgled a charity shop on three separate occasions has been jailed.
Andrew William Davies, 38, was arrested on Friday 6th October in relation to three separate burglaries at Age UK Charity Shop, Witton Street, Northwich, which occurred over a two week period.
Davies, of Gorstage Lane, Weaverham, was subsequently charged with burglary other than a dwelling - theft.
He appeared at West Cheshire Magistrates on Saturday 7th October where he pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to six months in prison and handed a £115 fine.
Age UK provide an invaluable service, helping people make the most of their later life. Yet, as a result of a Davies’ actions the charity lost a significant amount of money, which would have been used to support some of our most vulnerable residents.
Owley Wood Road, Weaverham, Northwich.
There have been reports of drug use and ASB with fence posts being uprooted. I have carried out a joint visit with the Woodland Trust and local volunteers, along with PCSO Devey, with a view to deterring the misuse of the woodland on a long term basis. The Trust is a charity run organisation and the up keep of the area is relied heavily on its volunteers. A lot of hard work goes into the area for everyone to use. Where it is encouraged that it be open to everyone and used to it fullest, we don’t want to see damage to trees, littering and fires at the location. It’s a beautiful piece of woodland and it would be a shame to see it ruined by a minority. Please report anything untoward via 101 or 999 if it’s an emergency.
Cuddington and Sandiway Village Hall.
Unfortunately we have received reports of damage to the village hall along with an increase with youths hanging around in the area. We have increased our presence in the area and will continue to do so when we are on a late shift. PCSO Devey has been in touch with those who use the hall and again it goes without saying if you see or hear ASB please report it via 101.
PCSO Devey will be implementing Police Surgeries across the ward, hopefully starting off in the Sandiway area. Definite times, dates and location will be posted in due course. This will be where you get chance to meet Nichola face to face, have a chat, express any concerns or ask any questions you may have.
Halloween and Bonfire night.
We are now approaching that time of the year where we typically see a spike in Anti-Social Behaviour. Halloween and bonfire night are times of the year to enjoy but annoyingly we always seem to encounter the minority who are intent on ruining the occasion.
In terms of ‘Trick or Treaters’, it is now generally accepted that if you are happy to receive them knocking on your door then you leave some sort of decoration in view, if not then consider closing your curtains and switching off any lights at the front of your house. Flyers have been left in local shops that can be stuck in your door/window which state you do or do not wish to receive visitors on this night. I would ask you to let others know of this information in particularly elderly or vulnerable friends, family members or neighbours.
