Here is the crime information for the last 30 days for Disley and Newtown.

22nd February – Offenders entered a construction site on Redhouse Lane and stole Upvc patio doors

As you can see from above we have had 2 trailers stolen from addresses. If you know anyone that owns a trailer please could you make them aware about the increase in this type of crime? If you own a trailer please consider using extra security. It is also advised that you uniquely mark your trailer and make a note of the VIN number if it has one.

We have taken 2 reports of frauds which involves deliveries to private residences. This particular fraud is where high value items are ordered and paid for fraudulently. They are then sent to an innocent person’s home address. The fraudsters will send the delivery with a parcel company that offers a tracking service on their deliveries. This is so the fraudster knows when the parcel has been delivered to the address. The fraudster will then call at the address and say they are from the delivery company. They will tell the homeowner they have delivered the parcel to the wrong address and ask for the parcel back. As the homeowner hasn’t ordered the goods they will hand over the high value items to the fraudster.
If you do receive a parcel that you weren’t expecting keep hold of the parcel and ring action fraud on 0300 123 2040 to report the incident. You can also ring Cheshire Police on 101 and we will recover the parcel.

We have also had 2 large swords handed into us which appear to have been dumped in Disley. If you know who the owner of the swords is please get in contact with us via 101.

PC Jackson and PCSO Simpson would like to wish you a happy Easter and we hope you enjoy the bank holiday weekend.
