7 September 2017Cheshire West and Chester Libraries are taking part in ‘Fun Palaces’ on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October 2017.The event is free, international celebration of community – bringing people together through arts, science, crafts and tech. Libraries in Chester, Blacon, Ellesmere Port, Neston and Northwich are going to be opened up to the local community and they are looking for volunteers to come along and get involved. The Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Well-being, Councillor Louise Gittins said: “Fun Palaces create events that bring together arts and sciences – but above all people – to work together, create together, have fun together, and in doing so, build our own communities, from the grassroots up. “Are you good at drawing and painting? Can you knit or sew? Can you conduct science experiments or demonstrate tech? Are you in a band or choir? Why not get in touch and be a part of this fun celebration. “There will be lots of free activities for all ages, run by the community, for the community.” If you would like to volunteers to take part in Fun Palace 2017 please call into any of the libraries taking part, email: libraries@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk or get in touch on Twitter: @cwaclibraries. | |
