Cheshire West and Chester Council is carrying out a consultation on polling districts and stations across the borough until 7 November.
This is a legal requirement where residents are asked to send in any comments about polling districts and stations, and suggest any alternative places that could be used. Changes to Council ward boundaries mean that some areas need to make changes to their polling stations.
Those who live in the Cheshire West and Chester Council area can get involved with the consultation.
The consultation affects voting arrangements for the following parliamentary constituencies:
Andrew Lewis, Chief Executive of Cheshire West and Chester Council and (Acting) Returning Officer, said: “It is important our residents have an opportunity to cast their vote on election days.
- City of Chester
- Ellesmere Port and Neston
- Eddisbury (polling districts that form part of the Council’s polling scheme)
- Weaver Vale (polling districts that form part of the Council’s polling scheme)
- Tatton (polling districts that form part of the Council’s polling scheme)
“This review gives everyone the chance to let us know if they have experienced any issues with their polling district or station, or whether they have any concerns with the new ones we have proposed.
“Your comments will help us to make sure that our service is the best it can be at election time.”
You can view the proposals and make comments on Cheshire West and Chester Council’s website.
Paper copies of the maps or documents can also be viewed at the Council’s HQ office, 58 Nicholas Street, Chester, CH1 2NP. This can be done from Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. If you would like to make an appointment, contact the Democratic Services team: 01244 977084.
